SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION
An explanation of potential harm from Smart or "Advanced" Meters compiled by the team of RI4SafeTech.
"Advanced" meters emit wireless radiation. It is important for all RI Energy customers to inform themselves about the scientific evidence of potential harm from Advanced Meter infrastructure so that they can make an informed decision.
See our Resources tab to explore outside sources leading to a better understanding of the effects of wireless radiation and other electromagnetic fields.

CRANSTON HERALD OP-EDS
Check out Sheila Resseger's Op-Eds!
Some of her Op-Eds are about Smart Meters, and some are about other wireless radiation topics.
All of the iterations of wireless technology, 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G/4GLTE, 5G, 6G, and so forth have biological consequences for plant and animal life.

VIDEO: I WAS FINE
This 5 minute video illustrates the devastating impact of smart or "advanced" meters on people's lives.
Smart meters can be the catalyst which, for an increasing number of people, triggers many symptoms.

ADVANCED METER BIOLOGICAL HARM POWERPOINT BY BEATRICE GOLOMB
This powerpoint by highly credentialed Dr. Beatrice Golomb is a comprehensive exposition of the biological harms of radiofrequency radiation.

SEE HOMEPAGE FOR HOW TO OPT-OUT OF SMART METERS, REBRANDED AS "ADVANCED" METERS
It doesn't take long to opt-out.
Once you call Rhode Island Energy's Opt-Out number, they will mail you a written confirmation about the changes on your bill.

AMF METER HEARING
This is the link for the April 4, 2023 RI Public Utilities Commission Public Hearing on RI Energy's AMF [Advanced Metering Functionality/Smart Meter] proposal. The public testimony starts at about minute 29. Sheila Resseger was the first member of the public to speak.

COMMENTS AGAINST THE METERS FROM 2023
During Spring and Summer 2023 Public Comments were sent to the RI Public Utilities Commission prior to the PUC's decision to authorize RI Energy's AMF [Advanced Metering Functionality] smart meter proposal.
Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page to see the Public Comments. The great majority were opposed.

PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING OPT-OUT FEES
Here is the video of the November 20, 2024 Public Hearing at the RI PUC regarding RI Energy's proposed fee increase (among other things) for the Opt-Out electric meters for people who refuse the Smart/Advanced Meters. After the lawyer for RI Energy spoke, four safe tech advocates testified via zoom or phone and brought up numerous points regarding the need for an analog meter option, rather than the digital, non-communicating meters. Public comments begin at the 17 minute mark.

DR. MARTIN PALL

4 minute video
Dr. Martin Pall, Professor Emeritus of Washington State University, BA in Physics (Johns Hopkins), PhD in Biochemistry & Genetics (Caltech), is interviewed by Dr. Adrienne Sprouse about the dangerous effects of electromagnetic fields from smart meters and other wireless devices and why our safety standards measure the wrong thing and are therefore inadequate.
THE CHANGE WE NEED
Take action and say no to Smart Meters, rebranded as Advanced Meters. Even if you don't personally feel the effects, your neighbors and the environment will. By opting-out, you will be investing in your family's long-term health, including your pets.
If they were truly advanced, they would be wired.
